About

Kimberly "Nick" Gutierrez (they/them), also known as "MidnightScreeningArt" is a visual artist and designer based in Denver, Colorado. They graduated summa cum laude from Regis University in 2020 with a BA in Visual Arts & Design; they had previously attended the Santa Fe University of Art and Design for Communication Design before its closure in 2017.

Originally from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Gutierrez has spent their journey as a creative finding ways to express themselves. Where words often fail them, art is a way for them to communicate with the audience. Whether it is through refined design projects or a niche art series, their work is how they share their experiences, process significant/traumatic events, and reflect on their ruminations. Their work has explored topics such as time, light, space, existentialism, religion, depression, Latinx identity, and loneliness. Through their work, they aim to express themselves, reflect on past experiences, and navigate topics that are traditionally difficult to approach.

Gutierrez is also a member of CHANT Cooperative. Their work has been exhibited at the O'Sullivan Gallery, Dayton Memorial Library, the Fort Collins Museum of Art, Convivio Cafe, Kashi Kari, Temple Studios, and Bell Projects.
